Rebranding a Community Staple

Durham Farm Connections is an agricultural staple in Durham Region. Known predominantly for showcasing Durham’s agricultural community and providing educational resources connecting the urban and rural landscapes in the region, DFC is a prominent and recognizable organization in the community.

In an effort to curate an updated look and feel for the brand to better align with the current strategic vision for the organization, DFC engaged Kleurvision to lead a rebranding process and work in collaboration with the internal working group and larger Board of Directors.

An Informed Process

The creative process was initially informed by a survey distributed to the DFC eco-system. After a collaborative approach to the creation of the survey between the DFC working group and Kleurvision, the survey was distributed through DFC internal channels. The survey travelled with positive organic momentum and the engagement results were high, creating a strong foundation for an informed approach to the creative process.

As a first deliverable a summary of survey results was delivered to the DFC team and used as a launch point for the Kleurvision creative team.

The Strategy

A Truly Collaborative Experience.

The creative process to develop the brand material for DFC took place over the course of 12 weeks and was a truly collaborative experience between the DFC internal working group and the Kleurvision creative team.

An exploration of colours, fonts and icons for the new look and feel became the primary objective for the project and the depth of creation was dense. The DFC and Kleurvision teams developed numerous interpretations of the final product after an extensive development process.

The end result of the creative was delivered to the DFC team as a comprehensive brand book and vibrant new creative.
